The Qnap TBS-464-8G-US is a diskless desktop NAS powered by an Intel Celeron N5105 quad-core processor bursting to 2.9 GHz with 8 GB of soldered DDR4 memory. Four M.2 2280 slots limited to Gen3 x2 speeds
Each of the four M.2 bays accepts NVMe SSDs running at PCIe Gen3 x2, so peak throughput per drive is lower than Gen3 x4 or Gen4 alternatives. The two 2.5 GbE ports are backward compatible with 1 GbE, 100 MbE and 10 MbE networks, and port trunking can combine them for up to 5 Gbps aggregate bandwidth. HDMI 2.0 outputs deliver 4K at 60 Hz for direct media playback or transcoding.
Verify SSD form factor
The unit only accepts M.2 2280 NVMe modules; 2230, 2242 or SATA M.2 drives will not fit or function. Memory is fixed at 8 GB with no expansion slots, so workloads requiring more RAM cannot be accommodated. An external 65 W power adapter is included, and the operating temperature range spans 0 to 40 °C.
