Dual 2.5in SATA hot-swap bay
This StarTech HSB220SAT25B fits two 2.5in SATA hard drives or SSDs into a single unused 3.5in front bay. It is aimed at system builders and technicians who need quick, tool-free access to storage without opening the case. The trayless design lets you slide drives in and out while the PC stays running.
Sustained-load behaviour
An aluminum enclosure acts as a passive heatsink so both drives stay cooler during long copy or backup sessions. Dual LEDs show power and per-drive activity at a glance. The SATA I/II/III backplane imposes no artificial throttle beyond the drives’ own limits.
Installation and common issues
No screws or trays are required; drives insert directly into the backplane like a cartridge. The bay occupies one standard 3.5in front opening and connects with two SATA data and two SATA power cables. Builders whose chassis lacks a free 3.5in front bay cannot use this product.
