It delivers ECC error correction and registered buffering required by these platforms. The modules operate at 1.1V with CL40 latency.
The memory runs at the DDR5-4800 (PC5-38400) data rate; if faster or slower modules are also installed, the system will clock all channels to the slowest module present. Registered ECC DIMMs of this type are not compatible with desktop or laptop platforms that only accept non-ECC unbuffered memory. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow across the modules must be provided by the server chassis.
The kit ships as a matched pair of 288-pin DIMMs; installation follows the server manual's channel and population rules, which typically require specific slot sequences per CPU.
