Enterprise read-intensive SSD
The Axiom EV100 is a 1.92 TB SATA solid-state drive built for 3.5-inch enterprise bays. It targets data-centre operators who need dependable throughput for read-heavy workloads such as content delivery, web serving or archival storage. The drive is supplied new and rated for continuous 24/7 operation in mission-critical environments.
Hot-swap design with 256-bit encryption
The hot-swap tray lets administrators replace the drive without powering down the chassis, reducing service disruption. Hardware-based 256-bit encryption protects stored data from unauthorised access if a drive leaves the facility. No additional software or host-side configuration is required to enable the encryption feature.
500 MB/s read and 490 MB/s write
Sequential reads reach 500 MB/s and writes reach 490 MB/s over the SATA interface, providing consistent low-latency access for large datasets. The 1.92 TB capacity accommodates extensive document, image and video libraries. Performance will saturate the SATA link, so workloads demanding higher bandwidth will require a faster interface.

Preguntas sobre este artículo
What is the expected lifespan of the 256-bit encryption engine under 24/7 read-intensive workloads?
The 256-bit encryption hardware is integrated into the controller and rated for continuous enterprise operation with no separate replacement cycle.
At what point does the 500 MB/s SATA interface become the bottleneck during sustained sequential reads?
The SATA 6 Gb/s link caps sustained sequential throughput at 500 MB/s, so the interface itself is the first limit under heavy read loads.
How much power does the 3.5-inch drive draw and how hot does it run during all-day read-intensive use?
The EV100 is built for 24/7 read-intensive duty in standard enterprise bays with conventional airflow cooling.
