Installing the compression rings onto rigid tubing

Slide the compression nut and split ring onto the cut tube, then press the tube firmly into the fitting body until it bottoms out before tightening the nut by hand plus a quarter turn with a wrench. A clean, square cut on the 14mm tubing is critical; burrs or an angled cut prevent a full seal and cause leaks under pressure. Over-tightening can deform the brass threads or crack the tubing, so stop when resistance increases sharply. Pressure-test the loop with the system powered off before final assembly.
