Dell 800GB SAS Enterprise SSD
This new Dell enterprise SSD provides 800 GB of storage over a 12 Gbps SAS interface. It uses mixed-use TLC NAND and a 2.5 inch form factor. The drive carries model numbers GW8T1 and MZILT800HBHQAD3 and is based on the PM1645a platform. Firmware is updated and components are tested.
Suits Dell PowerEdge servers and storage arrays
The drive is compatible with a wide range of PowerEdge rack, tower and modular servers including R630, R640, R650, R730, R740, R750, T330, T440, MX740c and MX840c models. It also fits MD1400, MD1420, ME4012 and ME4024 storage enclosures. It is not for systems that require a different physical interface or form factor.
12 Gbps SAS interface
The single specification that decides fit is the 12 Gbps SAS connection. The server or storage chassis must provide a SAS backplane or controller that supports this speed and the 2.5 inch drive bay. Without a compatible SAS host the drive cannot operate.
