The Dell PowerEdge MX760C is a half-width blade server built for dense compute environments. It ships with two Intel Gold 6438Y+ processors running at 2.0GHz with 32 cores each and 60M cache. Memory totals 512GB of DDR4 across 16 modules rated at PC5-4800. Two 2.4TB 10K SAS drives are installed on an H755 MX controller with six 2.5-inch drive bays available. Remote management uses iDRAC9 Express and networking includes a Marvell FastLinQ 41262 mezzanine card with dual 25Gb connectivity.

Compute-Dense Workloads

This configuration suits workloads that need high core counts and large memory capacity in a compact form factor. Virtualisation hosts, database nodes and HPC clusters can use the 64 total cores and 512GB DDR4. Buyers who need more internal storage than six drive bays provide should consider other platforms. The I/O fabric bays for Fabrics A, B and C are not included, so teams requiring pre-configured switching must source those modules separately. Organisations without an existing PowerEdge MX chassis infrastructure cannot install this blade.

The pair of Intel Gold 6438Y+ processors delivers 64 cores at 2.0GHz with 60M cache per socket. This CPU choice determines the server's throughput for parallel tasks and its licensing costs for per-core software. If the application scales better with higher clock speeds or fewer cores, a different processor model would be more appropriate.
