Dual 8-Core Xeon Server

The Dell PowerEdge R640 arrives with two Xeon Silver 4215R processors running at 3.2 GHz, each offering eight cores and 11 MB cache. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across two 16 GB modules. The chassis provides four 3.5-inch drive bays ready for SATA drives, while a PERC H740P RAID controller manages storage arrays. Integrated graphics and a 10 GbE two-port 562T adapter handle display and network connectivity out of the box.

Dual 750 W Power Supplies

Two R720 750 W power supplies share the load, providing redundancy for continuous operation. The 1U rack form factor measuring 36 by 24 by 10 inches fits standard cabinets and weighs 40 units. Remote management is handled by iDRAC9 with an Enterprise licence, allowing firmware updates, monitoring and power control without physical access. All BIOS and firmware revisions are updated to the latest stable versions before the system ships.

Flexible Storage and Expansion

Drive bays accept 3.5-inch SATA drives only; no drives are included so you choose capacity and redundancy level. The PERC H740P controller supports hardware RAID for the installed bays. Memory can scale to 7.68 TB using additional DDR4 modules when workloads demand more capacity. A rail kit is available on request to simplify rack mounting, and the dual processor sockets are fully populated, leaving no room for further CPU upgrades.
