Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory are installed across four slots, leaving twenty free slots for expansion up to 1.5 TB. Ten 600 GB 10K SAS drives connect through a PERC H730 controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. A quad-port network daughter card provides two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links, while iDRAC 8 Enterprise handles remote management.

The chassis occupies 2U of rack space and requires rails deep enough for the supplied ready rails kit. Two hot-swap 750 W platinum power supplies demand matching PDU outlets and appropriate circuit capacity. All ten drive bays accept 2.5-inch SAS carriers; confirm that any replacement drives use the same form factor. The LGA 2011-3 sockets are fully populated, so CPU upgrades are not possible without removing existing processors. Memory expansion uses DDR4 RDIMMs only; other DDR generations will not fit.

Dual 750 W platinum units share the load, reducing per-unit strain and keeping fan speeds lower during typical virtualisation or database workloads. The 2U chassis uses multiple high-rpm fans that ramp with inlet temperature; expect noticeable airflow noise in a quiet office but acceptable levels in a server room. Power draw scales with CPU utilisation and drive activity; the redundant design allows one supply to fail without immediate shutdown. Ensure adequate front-to-rear airflow clearance in the rack.
