The DELL PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Gold 6148 processor running at 2.4GHz with 20 cores and 27.5M cache. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory in two 16GB modules at 2666 MT/s and two 7.68TB SAS SSDs managed by an H730P RAID controller. The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays for future expansion. Remote management is handled by iDRAC9 Enterprise.

Installation uses sliding rails

The unit includes rails, bezel and power cords so it can be slid into a standard rack without extra hardware. Dual 1100W redundant power supplies are pre-installed, allowing hot-swap replacement if one module fails.
