The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server built for virtualization, databases, AI, and software-defined storage. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6430 processors at 2.1 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo and 32 cores each. The system includes 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory across 32 slots with a maximum capacity of 8 TB. No drives are installed; the chassis provides sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays.

PCIe Gen5 and OCP 3.0 define expansion limits

The platform uses PCI Express Gen5 slots for add-in cards and an OCP 3.0 slot for networking. The installed Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE adapter occupies the OCP 3.0 interface. Storage connects through the PERC H965i controller with 8 GB NV cache, which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 for SAS, SATA, and NVMe drives. The server supports a maximum of two processors and 32 memory slots, so further CPU or memory expansion requires replacing existing modules.

Redundant 1400 W platinum supplies

Two hot-swap 1400 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy for continuous operation. The front bezel and Ready Rails are included for standard rack mounting. Remote management is handled by iDRAC9 Datacenter with Lifecycle Controller for out-of-band monitoring and deployment. Buyers who need more than sixteen drive bays or a different form factor will need another chassis.
