The Dell PowerEdge R930 is a 4U rack server built for enterprise workloads that demand maximum processor and memory capacity. Four Intel Xeon E7-8890 v4 processors deliver 96 cores at 2.2 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo for heavy parallel processing. 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 48 modules supports large in-memory databases and virtualization. It ships new with rails and bezel included.

The decisive specification is the four-socket configuration populated with 24-core Xeon E7-8890 v4 CPUs and 768 GB of DDR4 memory. This combination targets applications that scale across many threads and require large coherent memory footprints such as SAP HANA, Oracle or SQL Server. The LGA 2011 platform and C602J chipset limit upgrades to the same processor family.

H730P RAID and quad-port networking

A PERC H730P 2 GB controller manages the four installed 1.8 TB 10K SAS drives with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 support. The 2.5-inch bay chassis accepts up to 24 SAS or SATA drives plus eight NVMe PCIe SSDs for tiered storage. An Intel X520/I350 daughter card provides two 1 GbE and two 10 GbE SFP+ ports. Four 1100 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC8 Enterprise complete the infrastructure-ready package.
