Single-socket LGA 2011-3 limits memory ceiling

The motherboard uses the Intel C612 chipset with an LGA 2011-3 socket populated by one Xeon E5-2620 v4. With a single processor installed, only eight of the sixteen DIMM slots are active and quad-channel memory up to 2400 MHz is limited to that half of the board. Adding a second compatible Xeon would unlock the remaining slots and the full 1 TB capacity, but the chassis and power supply already support that upgrade path.
