The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 fits a standard 1U rack space and arrives with a single Intel Gold 6132 processor running at 2.6 GHz with 14 cores and 19.25 MB cache. Memory is populated with 128 GB of DDR4 across eight 16 GB modules at 2666 MT/s. Storage uses four 1.92 TB SAS RI SSDs behind an H730P RAID controller, and remote management is provided by iDRAC9 Enterprise. The chassis includes rails, bezel and power cords.

Verify rack depth and power before ordering

Confirm the cabinet can accommodate the server depth and that two 1100 W redundant supplies match the available PDU circuits. The system provides up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots for additional adapters, and networking is handled by an Intel X550 dual 10 Gb RJ45 plus dual 1 Gb RJ45 module. No optical drive is fitted, so installation media must be supplied externally or via virtual media through iDRAC.
