Seven USB 3.0 ports from one PCIe slot

The ESTONE PCIE27USBA adds seven external USB 3.0 Type-A ports through a single PCI Express x1 lane. It fits x1, x4, x8 and x16 slots and is aimed at desktop builders who need more front-panel connections for peripherals, storage drives or media devices. The card delivers up to 5.0 Gbps per port when used alone.

Check slot and driver needs

Verify that your motherboard has a free PCI Express 2.0 x1 or wider slot and that the bracket aligns with your case opening. Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 (32 or 64 bit) are supported; Windows 7 requires the supplied RENESAS/VLI driver from the included CD, while Windows 10 and 11 work without extra drivers. Mac OS 10.8.2 and Linux are also compatible. The card is not compatible with PS3 or PS4 consoles.

Independent power and solid capacitors

Each of the seven ports has its own solid capacitor fed by a two-phase power module, so one port’s load does not affect the others. The NEC 720201 and 720210 controllers supply 5 V at 2 A per port without needing an external power connector. Total bandwidth reaches 10 Gbps split across two 5 Gbps groups of three and four ports respectively.
