2U barebone for 8 dual-slot Gen5 GPUs

This 2U rackmount barebone server fits eight dual-slot Gen5 GPUs and two EPYC 9004 processors. It provides 24 DDR5 RDIMM slots across 12 memory channels. Four 2.5-inch hot-swap bays accept Gen5 NVMe, SATA or SAS drives and four more accept SATA or SAS drives. Dual 10Gb/s LAN ports use the Broadcom BCM57416 controller. The platform is NVIDIA-Certified for data centre deployment.

Check rack depth, power budget and GPU length

Verify that your rack can accommodate a 2U chassis with sufficient airflow for eight full-height, dual-slot cards. Confirm that your power distribution units and cables can deliver the combined draw of two EPYC 9004 CPUs and the chosen GPUs. Ensure the selected GPU models do not exceed the chassis length limit and that their power connectors match your PSU harnesses. Plan for DDR5 RDIMM population across 12 channels to avoid unbalanced memory configurations.

Replaces 1U or 2U nodes limited to four GPUs

Moving from a 1U or 2U system capped at four GPUs to this 8-GPU barebone doubles accelerator density in the same rack height. The jump is worth it when training or inference workloads need more concurrent GPU memory and compute than a four-GPU box can supply. It also consolidates two older dual-socket nodes into one chassis, reducing cabling and management overhead. The 24 DIMM slots let you scale memory per CPU beyond what 16-slot platforms allow.

Preguntas sobre este artículo

Does the G293-Z42-AAP1 barebone include CPUs, memory or GPUs, or must they be purchased separately?

The barebone chassis ships without processors, DDR5 RDIMMs or the eight dual-slot Gen5 GPUs; all three must be sourced and installed by the buyer.

Which EPYC 9004 series processors and how many DDR5 RDIMMs does this 2U server support?

It accommodates two AMD EPYC 9004 series CPUs and up to 24 DDR5 RDIMMs across 12 memory channels.

What does the eight dual-slot Gen5 GPU capacity mean for actual workload density in this 2U form factor?

Eight full-length, dual-slot Gen5 GPUs fit inside the 2U chassis, delivering maximum accelerator density for AI training or HPC in a single rack unit.
