The HPE BL460c G10 is a half-height blade that fits into a c-Class enclosure, delivering two Xeon Gold 6242 processors running at 2.8 GHz with sixteen cores each. It targets organisations that need high core counts in a shared power and cooling infrastructure, such as virtualisation clusters or database tiers. Buyers who require a standalone rack server or more than two processor sockets will need a different form factor.

Configured memory and storage

The unit ships with 128 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory, reaching the blade's maximum supported capacity. Two 900 GB SAS 2.5-inch 10K hard drives are installed behind an HP Smart Array P204i-b SR Gen10 controller, providing hardware RAID for the internal bays. No additional drive bays or memory slots are available beyond what is populated.

Dual Xeon Gold 6242 processors

Each processor contributes sixteen cores at 2.8 GHz with 22 MB cache, giving a total of thirty-two cores across the blade. This core density determines whether the server matches the licensing and threading requirements of the intended workload. Workloads that demand higher single-thread frequency or a different instruction set will not be served by this configuration.
