The Lite-On ihas324-07 is a new internal DVD burner with a SATA interface and tray load mechanism. It writes DVD+R and DVD-R at 24X, DVD+R DL at 12X, DVD+RW at 8X and DVD-RW at 6X. CD-R and CD-ROM reach 48X while CD-RW writes at 32X. Software and a SATA cable are included in the box.
Limits of the SATA interface
The drive connects through a standard SATA port, so it fits current motherboards and allows hot-swap when the board supports it. Maximum write speeds are capped at the rated multipliers above; actual throughput depends on disc quality and system load. DVD-ROM access time is 160ms. No Blu-ray media can be read or written by this unit.
