This combo pairs an ASUS ROG STRIX X870-F GAMING WIFI motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. The board uses the AMD X870 chipset and the AM5 socket to support Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series CPUs. The 9800X3D brings 8 cores, 16 threads, a 5.2 GHz max boost and 96 MB of L3 cache with second-generation 3D V-Cache technology for low-latency gaming. DDR5-5600 memory is supported.

Check power and cooling clearance

Verify your power supply has two ProCool II 8-pin connectors for the 16+2+2 phase VRM rated at 110 A per stage. The motherboard provides CPU, AIO pump and standard 4-pin fan headers for cooling. Four M.2 slots are present with heatsinks and a backplate; confirm your case allows access to these slots and the rear I/O panel. Two USB4 ports and a USB 10 Gbps Type-C with PD 3.0 up to 30 W are available on the rear.
