Combo platform for AI workloads

The ASUS TUF GAMING X870-PRO WIFI7 W NEO motherboard pairs with the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor in a single kit. The board uses the AMD X870 chipset and AM5 socket to support Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series CPUs. Four DDR5 slots accept up to 256GB of un-buffered memory with ECC. The CPU delivers 128MB L3 cache, 16MB L2 cache and integrated Radeon graphics at 170W TDP.

Interface limits for expansion and storage

One PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot and two PCI Express 4.0 x16 slots handle graphics and add-in cards. Four M.2 sockets support both PCIe 5.0 x4 and PCIe 4.0 x4 drives. Two SATA 6Gb/s ports provide legacy storage with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Networking uses 5Gb Ethernet and WIFI7. USB4 at 40Gbps and 20Gbps USB-C with 30W power delivery cover external devices.

Power delivery decides sustained boost

The 16+2+1 phase design uses 80A power stages on an 8-layer PCB with dual 8-pin ProCool connectors. This VRM supplies the 170W processor and maintains stability during AI Cache Boost, AI Overclocking and heavy multi-threaded loads. Asynchronous clock generation adds headroom for memory tuning via EXPO, XMP or AEMP profiles.
