The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits in 1U of rack space and ships with dual Xeon E5-2603 v3 processors, each running at 1.6 GHz with six cores. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 memory are installed across the 12 DIMM slots, reaching the processors' supported maximum. Three 300 GB 15K SAS drives provide fast local storage for operating systems or databases.

Hot-plug bays and redundant power simplify

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays accept SAS or SATA media and support hot-swap replacement without downtime. A single 550 W redundant power supply keeps the system running if one module fails. Two PCIe 3.0 slots allow the addition of network or storage cards, while four 1 GbE ports handle baseline connectivity.

iDRAC8 and H330 controller reduce admin overhead

The integrated iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller enables remote power cycling, firmware updates and hardware inventory from any browser.
