Purpose-built 1U rack server for dense compute

The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor at 2.3 GHz with 8 GB of DDR4 memory into a 1U chassis. It ships with three 300 GB 15K SAS drives on a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. The platform targets workloads that need high spindle speed and hardware RAID in minimal rack space.

Redundant 550 W supply and four 1 GbE ports

A single hot-swap 550 W power supply provides redundancy in a 1U form factor. Four integrated 1 GbE interfaces handle management and data traffic without extra cards. The iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller gives remote console, power control and firmware updates over a dedicated network path, keeping hands-off administration practical in lights-out racks.

Eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays and two PCIe 3.0 slots

The front panel accepts up to eight 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives in tool-less trays, allowing capacity to grow from the installed three drives to the controller maximum of 16 TB. Two low-profile PCIe 3.0 slots remain for additional NICs, HBAs or accelerators. A DVD-ROM and included rails complete the day-to-day serviceability picture.
