The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server built for dense data-center deployments. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors running at 2.4GHz with 16 cores each and 512GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory across 16 DIMM slots. The platform targets virtualization, cloud infrastructure and high-performance computing workloads that demand high core counts in minimal rack space.

Front-access storage and networking

Ten 2.5-inch drive bays hold 960GB SATA SSDs behind the PERC H745 RAID controller with 4GB non-volatile cache and battery backup, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. A Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1GbE OCP 3.0 network card provides four Ethernet links in a single mezzanine slot. Dual 1400-watt platinum hot-swap power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management keep the system serviceable without pulling it from the rack.

With 32 total cores and a 3.4GHz turbo frequency, the dual Xeon configuration maintains high throughput during extended virtualization or analytics runs.
