The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack system built around two Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors running at 2.4 GHz with 3.2 GHz turbo. Each CPU provides six cores for a total of twelve threads. The platform targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce, VDI, databases or high-performance computing as a data node.

768 GB DDR4 and eight 400 GB SSDs

Memory is configured with twenty-four 32 GB DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC modules filling all twenty-four slots for 768 GB total, expandable to 1.5 TB. The board uses LGA 2011-3 sockets and the Intel C610 chipset, so any future CPU upgrade must match that socket. Two hot-swap 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy, but verify that your rack can supply the required power circuits. The chassis accepts 2.5-inch drives only; 3.5-inch trays will not fit. Rails and bezel are included, but confirm rail compatibility with your cabinet depth before ordering.
