The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack system built for midsize and large enterprise workloads such as data warehousing, virtual desktop infrastructure and high-performance computing. Two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors deliver 44 total cores at 2.2 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo capability.

768 GB DDR4 registered ECC

The system ships with 768 GB across 24 slots populated by 32 GB modules running at 2400 MHz. This is the maximum factory-fitted capacity; the board supports up to 1.5 TB if you replace modules, but all 24 slots are already occupied.

Hot-swap drive bays and rails included

Ten 2.5-inch 600 GB 10K SAS drives install directly into the front bays without tools. The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. ReadyRails and bezel are supplied, so the chassis mounts in standard racks immediately.
