This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 processor that delivers ten cores at 2.3 GHz and supports hyper-threading for twenty virtual cores. It is aimed at organisations that need dense, hot-plug storage in a standard rack footprint without paying for a second CPU upfront. The chassis accepts up to twenty-four 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives and includes a DVD-ROM drive. A PERC H330 controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across those bays.

Sustained load behaviour

Dual 750 W hot-swap power supplies share the load so that a single failure does not interrupt operation during extended workloads. The H330 controller maintains consistent throughput across RAID 5, 10, 50 and 60 arrays when all twenty-four bays are populated. Six PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated RAID slot allow additional networking or acceleration cards without reducing drive count. iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller provides remote monitoring and firmware updates while the system stays online.

Storage capacity ceiling is the deciding factor

Maximum supported raw capacity reaches 52 TB across the twenty-four 2.5-inch bays, so buyers who need more than that must look at a different chassis. Memory tops out at 1536 GB using twenty-four DDR4 DIMM slots, but only 8 GB is installed from the factory. The single-socket configuration leaves the second processor socket empty for future expansion. Networking defaults to four 1 GbE ports with optional 10 GbE daughter cards available separately.
