The Dell Precision T7910 tower ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processor delivering fourteen cores at 2 GHz and twenty-eight virtual cores through Hyperthreading. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory occupy part of the sixteen available DIMM slots, and a 2 TB 7.2 K SATA drive provides bulk storage. An Nvidia NVS 310 card with 512 MB memory drives two DisplayPort monitors, while a 1300 W 90 % efficient supply powers the chassis. No operating system is included.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous demand the fourteen-core Xeon maintains its 2 GHz base frequency across all cores, and the quad-channel memory architecture feeds data at up to 2400 MHz when both CPU sockets are populated. The integrated LSI SAS 3008 controller handles 12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA traffic for up to eight drives in software RAID 0, 1 or 10, keeping storage throughput steady during long renders or simulations. The 1300 W power supply with active power-factor correction delivers stable current without throttling.

Installation notes

The tower measures 21.5 by 8.5 by 17.2 inches and weighs 50 lbs, so two people or a lift aid are advisable when placing it on a bench. Four 3.5-inch or eight 2.5-inch drive bays accept additional SATA or SAS disks, and four M.2 PCIe slots are available for faster storage if a compatible controller is fitted. The NVS 310 uses a single low-profile bracket, leaving full-height PCIe slots open for compute accelerators or a second GPU. An optional PCIe RAID controller is required for RAID 5 support.
