The chassis provides eight SFF drive bays and redundant hot-swap power supplies for continuous operation.

Thermals noise and power draw with 550W redundant

Dual 550W redundant hot-swap power supplies share the load to keep the system running if one unit fails. The 1U form factor uses high-speed fans to move air through the compact chassis, so acoustic output is noticeable in quiet office spaces. Power consumption scales with processor utilisation and the number of installed drives, staying within the 550W capacity of each supply.

Included drives controller and memory layout

Two 146GB 15K SAS drives arrive mounted in trays ready for the eight-bay backplane. The Smart HBA H240 provides 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity with hardware RAID 0, 1 and 5 offloaded from the CPU.
