Compact NAS Chassis for Mini-ITX Builds

The JONSBO N2 BLACK is an 11-litre aluminium and steel enclosure designed for Mini-ITX motherboards. It targets home-office, network-storage and enterprise-storage deployments that need high drive density in a square footprint. Five hot-swap 3.5-inch bays and one internal 2.5-inch bay give six total drive positions. A single low-profile expansion slot supports cards up to 197 mm long.

Build Integration and Clearances

The chassis accepts SFX power supplies up to 130 mm deep and CPU coolers no taller than 65 mm. A built-in 12015 fan at the rear provides baseline airflow while ventilation grilles on the front and side panels assist passive cooling. The removable upper cover simplifies component installation. Front I/O includes USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, USB 3.0 and a combined audio/mic jack.

Sustained-Load Thermal Behaviour

Under continuous NAS workloads the aluminium alloy panels and steel structure help dissipate heat from multiple spinning drives. The rear 120 mm fan moves air across the motherboard and drive backplane without relying on short-burst boost behaviour. Hot-swap backplane circuitry is rated for server-grade operation, allowing drive replacement without system downtime. GPU length is limited to 198 mm for low-profile cards only.
