The aluminium chassis includes a built-in fan and an auto-sleep timer that spins drives down after ten minutes of inactivity.

Tool-Free Drive Installation with Cooling

Drives slide into the open bays without screws or trays, so swapping disks takes seconds. The USB 3.0 link provides up to 5 Gbps bandwidth, but the enclosure does not support RAID or NAS functions, so each drive appears separately to the operating system. The fan runs continuously when the unit is powered, which adds audible noise in quiet rooms.
