It ships with 48GB of DDR4 memory across twelve DIMM slots and three 1.2TB SAS drives on a PERC H730 RAID controller. Upgrade path from older 1U platforms

Replacing a previous-generation rack server with this model adds DDR4 memory channels and a 12Gbps RAID controller while keeping the same 8-bay 2.5-inch hot-plug backplane. The jump is worth it when workloads need faster storage rebuilds or higher memory bandwidth but the rack budget still allows only 1U of height. Limits of the SAS backplane
