This adapter lets you add an M.2 NVMe SSD to any desktop with a free PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot. It accepts M-key drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths and requires no extra drivers for Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, Linux or macOS. The card is designed for users who want fast NVMe storage on a motherboard that lacks an M.2 slot or needs an additional one.

Aluminium Heatsink and Slot Flexibility

An aluminium cover with grooved fins sits over the SSD to move heat away during sustained transfers, helping prevent thermal throttling. The board fits PCIe 5.0, 4.0, 3.0 and 2.0 slots at x16, x8 or x4 electrical widths, so it works in a wide range of desktop platforms. SATA-based M.2 drives are not supported, and the SSD must be initialised and formatted before the OS will recognise it.

Upgrade Path for PCIe 5.0 NVMe Storage

The adapter replaces the need for a native M.2 slot and lets you move an existing NVMe drive to a new system or add a second drive when all onboard slots are full. Full PCIe 5.0 bandwidth of 16 GB/s is only reached when the CPU, motherboard slot and SSD all support PCIe 5.0; otherwise the link runs at the speed of the slowest component. Builders using SATA M.2 drives or needing PCIe x1 connectivity cannot use this card.
