3000VA 208/230V rackmount UPS

The APC Smart-UPS X SMX3000HV delivers 3000VA and 2700W of pure sine-wave power protection in a 4U rackmount chassis. Twelve rear outlets include eight IEC 320 C13, two IEC 320 C19 and two IEC jumpers to support servers, switches and networking gear. A Smart-Slot interface accepts optional management cards for remote monitoring. Input accepts 140–280V at 50/60Hz with auto-sensing frequency.

Online double-conversion thermals and efficiency

The UPS operates as an online double-conversion topology, so incoming power is continuously rectified and inverted, isolating connected loads from voltage sags, surges and frequency drift. A sealed lead-acid battery module recharges in three hours and is user-replaceable using part APCRBC143. Surge energy rating is 645 joules. Audible alarms signal on-battery and low-battery states with configurable delays.

Replaces smaller VA tower or line-interactive units

Moving from a lower VA tower or line-interactive UPS adds continuous voltage regulation without battery drain and extends runtime for critical loads. The jump is worth it when equipment requires 208V or 230V input, when rack density demands 4U mounting, or when the load approaches 2700W and needs true online isolation. Not suited for desktop loads needing only basic standby backup or for installations that cannot accommodate a 4U rack footprint.
