IEEE 802.3 PoE HAT for Raspberry Pi 5 and CM5

This PoE HAT powers a Raspberry Pi 5 or Compute Module 5 through a single Ethernet cable connected to a PoE-enabled switch or router. It draws power and data over IEEE 802.3 af/at compliant infrastructure. The board suits makers, robotics hobbyists and IoT developers who want a tidy, cable-free deployment. It plugs directly onto the 40-pin GPIO header for immediate use.

5 V 5 A isolated SMPS output

The isolated switched-mode supply delivers a steady 5 V at up to 5 A, giving the Pi 5 enough current for its own operation plus attached HATs, cameras or USB devices. Headroom exists for typical sensor arrays and small actuators in robotics or edge-computing nodes. Very high-draw peripherals such as large touchscreen displays or multiple spinning drives may exceed the available budget.

Replaces separate power supply

The HAT removes the need for a dedicated USB-C power adapter and its mains lead when a PoE switch is already present. It also fits inside the official Pi 5 case and clears the Active Cooler, so existing enclosures need no modification. The upgrade is worthwhile wherever Ethernet cabling reaches the device location; it adds no benefit in purely Wi-Fi or battery-powered installations.
