Core configuration

This desktop centres on a 24-core Intel Core i9-14900K running at 3.2 GHz with a 6.00 GHz maximum turbo and 36 MB L3 cache, paired with 192 GB of DDR5 memory across four slots. A GeForce RTX 5060 with 8 GB of video memory handles graphics output while a 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive provides the primary storage volume. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and is aimed at users who need high thread counts and large memory capacity for content creation or heavy multitasking alongside gaming.

Interface and platform limits

The Z790 TUF motherboard supplies four M.2 connectors and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports, but the current build occupies only one M.2 slot with the 2 TB NVMe drive, leaving three M.2 sockets and all four SATA ports free for additional drives. Rear I/O includes two USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, while the front panel adds two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Network connectivity relies on Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and BLUETOOTH 5.2, so peak wireless throughput is capped at the Wi-Fi 6 standard.

Build practicalities

A 360 mm quiet-edition liquid cooler mounts to the CPU inside an Antec P20 mid-tower case measuring 469 mm deep by 220 mm wide by 490 mm high, with three 120 mm front intake fans and dust filters on bottom, front and top panels. The Thermaltake Smart 850 W 80 PLUS Bronze power supply uses a 140 mm fan and Japanese main capacitors, delivering power through standard ATX cables to the motherboard and GPU.
