Rugged laptop for field work

The DELL Latitude 5414 is a new 14.0 inch rugged notebook built to military-grade standards for harsh environments. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 6th gen Intel Core i5-6300U processor with 3MB cache and speeds up to 3.00 GHz. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB SSD for responsive performance in demanding conditions. A 10-point touchscreen supports glove operation for outdoor use.

Connectivity and expansion options

Four USB ports provide three 3.0 and one 2.0 interface for peripherals and data transfer. Video output is handled by one HDMI and one VGA port for external displays. An SD card reader and RJ-45 Ethernet jack add storage flexibility and wired networking. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth4, while optional LTE 4G and dedicated GPS support mobile workflows.

Sustained operation on battery power

Internal 6-cell and 9-cell battery packs deliver all-day runtime for full-shift productivity away from power outlets. An optional hot-swap bridge battery and spare battery charger extend operation further in the field. The chassis uses specialised materials and rigorous component qualification to maintain performance under continuous load. Direct-view display brightness remains readable in direct sunlight during extended outdoor sessions.
