The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14.0 inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7 11th Gen processor with a minimum speed of 2.80GHz. It comes with 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD that may actually provide between 240GB and 256GB of usable space. The FHD display runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution and uses integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics for visual output. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed with a recovery image on the drive.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 11th Gen Core i7 maintains its 2.80GHz base frequency during extended tasks while the integrated graphics share system memory. Thermal management in the 14 inch chassis balances performance with surface temperatures during long compile, render or video-encoding sessions. Fan noise rises under continuous load but remains within typical business-class limits. The SSD delivers consistent read and write speeds without the thermal throttling seen in smaller form-factor drives.

Installation reality

Memory slots total zero so the 16GB configuration is fixed for the life of the device. The M.2 SSD can be swapped but requires removing the bottom cover and disconnecting the battery first. Expansion and SD card slot covers may be missing on this professionally reconditioned unit. Cosmetic scratches or scuffs on the bezel and casing are expected and the screen may show up to two light scratches, one to two dead pixels or small bruises no larger than a pencil eraser.
