The Dell PowerEdge MX760C is a half-width blade server fitted with two Intel Gold 6526Y processors running at 2.8 GHz with 16 cores each. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4 memory across sixteen 16 GB PC5-5600 modules. Two 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives are installed behind an H755 MX RAID controller. Remote management is provided by iDRAC9 Express. A Marvell FastLinQ 41262 mezzanine card delivers dual 25 Gb connectivity.

Suits dense compute clusters; not for GPU workloads

This blade fits organisations that need high core counts in a compact MX chassis slot for virtualisation, database or HPC tasks. The dual 16-core CPUs and large memory capacity support heavy multi-threaded workloads. Buyers who require GPU acceleration should look elsewhere because the half-width form factor does not accommodate full-height accelerator cards. Environments needing more than six 2.5-inch drive bays per blade will also need a different platform.

256 GB DDR4 PC5-5600 memory capacity

The installed memory totals 256 GB using sixteen 16 GB DDR4 modules rated at PC5-5600. This capacity determines how many virtual machines, containers or in-memory databases can run simultaneously on the blade. If the workload demands more memory than 256 GB, additional blades or a different server model with higher DIMM limits must be considered.
