Half-Width Compute Sled

The Dell PowerEdge MX760C is a half-width blade server that fits into a modular MX chassis. Two Intel Gold 6526Y processors each run at 2.8 GHz with 16 cores and 37.5 MB cache. Memory totals 512 GB of DDR4 across 16 modules of 32 GB PC5-5600. Six 960 GB SATA SSDs provide internal storage managed by an H755 MX RAID controller.

Blade Installation Notes

The sled slides into a compatible MX chassis bay and locks with integrated levers; no separate rails or cables are required for the compute module itself. Fabric A, B and C switch or pass-through bays are not included, so networking and storage connectivity must be supplied separately. The single MX Marvell FastLinQ 41262 mezzanine card delivers two 25 Gb CNA ports. iDRAC9 Express enables remote firmware updates and health monitoring before the operating system loads.

Sustained Workload Behaviour

Under continuous load the dual 16-core CPUs maintain their 2.8 GHz base frequency while the H755 MX controller balances I/O across the six SATA SSDs. The 512 GB DDR4 capacity supports large in-memory datasets without swapping. Dual-redundant fabric design in the chassis isolates compute traffic from storage traffic, preventing contention during extended database or virtualization tasks. Thermal headroom in the shared chassis keeps performance stable over multi-hour runs.
