Dense compute blade for scale-out workloads

The Dell PowerEdge MX760C is a half-width rack blade that fits into a shared chassis, giving data-centre operators a compact node for virtualised or containerised workloads. Two Intel Gold 6434 processors run at 3.7GHz with eight cores each, providing 16 total cores for parallel tasks. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 memory across four 16GB modules at 4800 MT/s supports moderate memory footprints.

Thermal profile and power envelope

The blade relies on the chassis fans and shared power supplies, so acoustics and thermal limits are determined by the enclosure configuration rather than the node alone. Six 1.92TB SATA SSDs sit in 2.5-inch bays behind the H755 MX RAID controller, keeping storage traffic inside the blade. A single Marvell FastLinQ 41262 mezzanine card delivers two 25Gb connections for fabric access.

Management and fabric readiness

iDRAC9 Express provides out-of-band remote management for firmware updates and hardware monitoring without an operating system. The MX760C exposes up to two pairs of general-purpose fabric bays and a redundant storage fabric bay, though the switch modules themselves are not included. Buyers who need onboard optical media or additional drive bays beyond the six provided will need a different form factor.
