Ideal for Virtualization and Database Nodes

This configuration suits IT teams running hypervisors, application hosting, or database workloads that benefit from many cores and large, redundant SSD arrays. The single-socket-width chassis limits PCIe expansion, so buyers who need multiple GPU accelerators, additional NICs, or Fibre Channel HBAs should consider a larger form factor. Organisations requiring integrated RAID cache or battery-backed write cache will need a different controller than the HBA330 provided.

HBA330 Passthrough Controller

The PERC HBA330 operates in non-RAID passthrough mode, presenting each 1.92 TB SATA SSD directly to the operating system or hypervisor. Software-defined storage layers such as vSAN, Ceph, or ZFS can then manage redundancy and performance tiers. If hardware RAID levels, cache protection, or mixed SAS/SATA arrays are required, this controller will not meet that need.
