The Dell PowerEdge R540 is a 2U rack server equipped with dual Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency and ten cores. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory are installed across four modules, leaving twelve of sixteen slots available for expansion up to 384 GB. The chassis provides eight front-accessible 3.5-inch drive trays for SAS or SATA drives, managed by a PERC HBA330 12 Gb/s controller.

Dual 750 W platinum supplies share the load

Redundant hot-swap power supplies operate at platinum efficiency, reducing waste heat while maintaining uptime if one unit fails. Intelligent cooling fans adjust speed based on inlet temperature and component load, keeping acoustic output low during typical virtualization or database tasks. The LGA 3647 socket platform supports a maximum of two processors, both already populated in this configuration.

Tool-less Ready Rails allow quick mounting in standard four-post racks, and the included front bezel secures the drive bay area while maintaining airflow.
