1U 10-Bay Server for Dense Workloads

The Dell PowerEdge R650xs packs two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 2.4GHz 16-core processors and 512GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory into a 1U rack chassis. Ten 960GB SATA SSDs provide high-density flash storage. The PERC H745 controller with 4GB NV cache and battery backs RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 10GbE SFP+ ports on an OCP 3.0 card handle network traffic. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables remote lifecycle management. Two 1400W platinum hot-swap power supplies deliver redundancy. Rails and bezel are included.

Storage and Network Ready

The ten enterprise SATA SSDs and PERC H745 controller arrive pre-installed, removing the need to source drives, cables or a RAID card separately. The Broadcom 57412 dual-port 10GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 adapter is also fitted, so high-speed networking is available without consuming a PCIe slot. iDRAC9 Enterprise licenses are activated, granting full remote console, automation and security features out of the box. Hot-swap power supplies and tool-less rails reduce physical installation time in the rack.

Check Rack Depth and Power Input

Verify that your rack depth accommodates a 1U server with rear cabling for dual SFP+ and power connections. Confirm the facility provides two compatible PDU outlets for the 1400W supplies to maintain redundancy. Ensure the operating environment supports the thermal load of dual 16-core processors and ten SSDs. Plan for SFP+ transceivers and fibre or copper cabling, as the network card ships without optics. Validate that your hypervisor or OS supports the PERC H745 RAID stack.
