PowerEdge R650xs 1U dual-Xeon server

The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 6338 processors running at 2.0 GHz with 32 cores each. It includes 256GB of DDR4 3200MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32GB modules. Storage is handled by a PERC H745 RAID controller with 4GB NV cache and battery, driving eight 1.92TB SATA SSDs. Dual 1400W platinum power supplies, a Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1GbE OCP 3.0 card, iDRAC9 Enterprise, rails and a front bezel complete the configuration.

Suited for dense virtualization and cloud workloads

This server targets environments that need high core counts and fast memory in a single rack unit, such as virtualization clusters, container platforms or analytics nodes. The eight 2.5-inch drive bays and H745 controller support RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 for flexible data protection. Buyers who need more than two sockets, GPU acceleration, NVMe boot drives or 10GbE networking out of the box should evaluate other platforms because those features are not included in this build.

Tool-less rails and hot-swap components simplify

The included Ready Rails allow tool-less mounting in standard square-hole or threaded racks. Power supplies, drives and fans are hot-swappable, so failed parts can be replaced without downtime. iDRAC9 Enterprise provides full remote console, power control and firmware updates over a dedicated management port. First-boot issues typically involve RAID array initialization or BIOS boot-order settings for the OCP network adapter; both are resolved through the iDRAC interface or the front LCD panel.
