Compact 1U rack server for dense workloads

The PowerEdge R650xs fits two Intel Xeon Gold 6338 processors, each with 32 cores running at 2.0 GHz and a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency, into a single rack unit. It ships with 512 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 16 slots, leaving room to expand to the platform maximum of 1 TB. This configuration targets virtualization hosts, cloud nodes and analytics clusters that need high core counts in minimal space.

Eight-bay SAS storage with hardware RAID

The front panel accepts eight 2.5-inch SAS drives; this unit comes populated with 1.8 TB 10K spindles on a 12 Gb/s bus. A PERC H745 controller with 4 GB non-volatile cache and battery backs RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, offloading parity calculations from the CPUs. Two hot-swap 1400 W platinum power supplies and an OCP 3.0 dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ adapter are pre-installed, so the chassis only needs rack rails, power cords and network cabling to enter service.

iDRAC9 Enterprise and ready-to-rack hardware

Integrated iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides out-of-band management, firmware orchestration and secure erase without an operating system. The package includes sliding ready rails and a front bezel, eliminating separate accessory orders. Buyers who require GPU acceleration, NVMe-only storage or a larger drive-count chassis will need a different platform.
