Enterprise 2U rack server

The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads that need high core counts and large memory capacity. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors, each running at 3.0 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo across 12 cores. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory installed across eight 32 GB modules. A PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

Verify rack space and power

Confirm your rack can accept a 2U chassis and that the rails supplied will mount in your cabinet depth. The unit requires two 1400 W platinum power supplies for full redundancy, so ensure your PDU circuits and voltage match. Network connectivity uses a dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 card, so compatible SFP+ transceivers and cabling must be available. Memory expansion uses DDR4 registered ECC DIMMs only; other DDR generations will not fit.

Hot-swap trays and remote management

Twelve 3.5-inch hot-swap drive trays support both SAS and SATA drives for tool-less replacement without downtime. Redundant power supplies are also hot-swappable, allowing maintenance while the server runs. The integrated iDRAC 9 Enterprise module provides dedicated out-of-band remote management for power control, console redirection and firmware updates over a separate network connection. The front bezel secures the drive bays and completes the rack presentation.
