The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads that need dense 3.5-inch storage. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors, each running at 3.0 GHz with 12 cores, plus 128 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory. A PERC H755 controller with 8 GB NV cache manages the twelve 8 TB SATA hard drives. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management complete the package.

Verify rack space and network cabling

Confirm your rack can accommodate a 2U chassis and that rails are compatible with the included Ready Rails kit. The OCP 3.0 network card provides dual 10 GbE SFP+ ports, so ensure your top-of-rack switches have matching SFP+ transceivers and fibre or direct-attach cables. Memory runs at 2933 MT/s; the platform supports up to 2 TB across 32 DIMM slots if future expansion is planned. Power feeds must deliver sufficient current for two 1400 W units.

Hot-swap drive bays and redundant power

Twelve front-accessible 3.5-inch bays allow drive replacement without shutting down the server. The PERC H755 supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, giving flexibility for capacity or redundancy.
