It ships with dual Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processors, each providing 20 cores at 2.3 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo. The system includes 512 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across 16 modules. Twelve 3.5-inch drive trays support SATA and SAS storage.

Tool-Less Rails and Hot-Swap Components

Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for straightforward rack mounting. The chassis uses tool-less sleds for the twelve 3.5-inch drives and supports redundant hot-swap 1400 W power supplies. The HBA355i controller provides SAS 12 Gb/s pass-through only, so RAID must be handled by software or a separate card. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables full remote management before the operating system loads.

512 GB Memory with Room to 2 TB

Installed memory of 512 GB handles large virtualization clusters and in-memory databases comfortably. The platform supports up to 2 TB across 32 DDR4 DIMM slots at speeds up to 3200 MT/s. Twelve 3.5-inch bays limit raw capacity compared to 2.5-inch configurations, and the HBA355i does not accelerate parity calculations. Builders needing hardware RAID or more than twelve drives should plan a different controller or chassis.
