Enterprise tower server for virtualisation

The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server that can also be rack-mounted with an optional kit. It ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with a 2.9 GHz turbo frequency and twelve cores. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across eight 32 GB modules and a Dell PERC H330 storage controller managing four 1.92 TB SATA solid-state drives. Dual gigabit Ethernet ports and iDRAC 8 Express remote management come standard.

Sustained multi-threaded throughput

With two processors installed the server presents twenty-four physical cores and a maximum memory capacity of 384 GB across twelve DIMM slots. The PERC H330 controller provides 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA connectivity to the sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays, allowing storage expansion without downtime. Turbo frequencies of 2.9 GHz are maintained across cores during prolonged compute tasks such as database indexing or hypervisor scheduling, while ECC memory corrects single-bit errors that would otherwise accumulate under continuous load.

Redundant platinum power supplies limit thermal

Two 750 watt platinum-efficiency hot-swap power supplies share the load, reducing per-unit heat output and fan speed during normal operation. The 5U chassis provides generous airflow paths for the dual-socket configuration and dense drive population. iDRAC 8 Express monitors inlet temperature, power draw and fan health remotely, alerting administrators before thermal thresholds are reached. The front bezel and ready rails are not included, so rack installations require separate mounting hardware.
