The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server that supports up to sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4214 processors, each running at 2.2GHz with a 3.2GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 32GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across four modules. A PERC H730P storage controller with 2GB cache handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60.

Scales Beyond Single-Socket Limits

This configuration adds a second processor to reach 24 total cores, doubling the thread count of a single-socket build. The jump is worth it when virtualization hosts or database workloads need more concurrent threads than 12 cores can deliver.
